Companion to the Dying & Their Loved Ones

No one should have to navigate the end-of-life journey alone. As an End-of-Life Doula, I provide holistic, non-medical support that complements hospice care through education, advocacy, guidance, compassionate companionship, and personalized vigil planning - holding sacred space for those final hours.

I meet individuals and families where they are, helping them navigate difficult decisions, honor personal wishes, and feel supported and empowered every step of the way. Together, we create a nurturing environment where questions can be asked, fears gently explored, and meaningful moments of connection and peace can unfold.

When the dying are comforted physically and emotionally, and pain is well managed, the body can relax. When people feel safe, they can move into the direction necessary to let go. That includes the dying and their loved ones.

From diagnosis through grief and bereavement, I offer a calm presence, deep listening, and compassionate support - always asking, "How can I help?"

Remembrance & Legacy Projects

Every life has a story worth honoring. Through meaningful conversations, life review, and personalized legacy projects, I help individuals reflect on their experiences, share their wisdom, and preserve the memories, values, and stories that have shaped their lives.

Whether life has been joyful, difficult, or somewhere in between, there is meaning to be found in every story. Legacy work is not about creating a perfect narrative or focusing only on accomplishments - it is about honoring the fullness of a life lived: the joys, challenges, lessons, relationships, and experiences that made you who you are.

Together, we create opportunities for connection, remembrance, and reflection. We honor a life lived and affirm that your life mattered. In doing so, we preserve the stories,  memories, and wisdom you wish to leave behind for those you love.

End-of-Life Planning & Advance Directives

If you were unable to speak for yourself, would your loved ones know your wishes? Advance care planning is about more than completing documents. It is an opportunity to reflect on what matters most and consider the kind of care you would want if faced with a serious illness or medical crisis. After all, only you can define what quality of life means to you.

Through education, guidance, and compassionate conversation, I help individuals explore their values, understand their options, identify a trusted healthcare proxy, and document important healthcare decisions. By clarifying your preferences and goals for care, we create a roadmap that honors your wishes and supports informed decision-making.

Planning ahead can reduce uncertainty and overwhelm, easing the burden on loved ones while bringing greater clarity, confidence, and peace of mind for everyone involved.

Reiki Services & Evidential Mediumship

(Mediumship Coming Soon)

Reiki is a gentle, complementary energy practice that promotes relaxation, restoring a sense of balance and overall well-being. By supporting the body's natural healing processes, Reiki can help ease stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm while creating space to slow down, reconnect, and restore.

Whether you are navigating a life transition, supporting a loved one, experiencing grief, or simply seeking greater peace and balance, Reiki offers compassionate support for the mind, body, and spirit.

Evidential Mediumship services are currently in development and will be offered in the future. My intention is to provide opportunities for meaningful connection, comfort, and spiritual insight. More information will be available as this service evolves.

If you're curious about how I can support you or someone you love, I invite you to reach out. It’s my honor to do this work!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why do we need End of Life Doulas if we have Hospice, and what is the difference between a hospice nurse and an End of Life Doula?

The main difference is time and roles. The hospice nurse is the medical manager of the terminal patient. However, due to Medicare reimbursement guidelines, they have limited time at the bedside. End of life care is 24/7. This means that 98% of the hands-on care falls to the immediate family or loved ones of the patient.

This is where the Doula can fill that gap.  A Doula is the non-medical professional that is the eyes and ears of the case with no time limitations. We are complimentary to hospice. A Doula can support the patient and the family holistically. They can alert the hospice team to any changes in the patients presentation so that the hospice nurse can assess and update the care plan for maximum daily comfort of the patient ( the goal of hospice )

This allows Hospice to do what they do well, and allows the family caregivers to concentrate on maximizing the limited time they have left with their loved one. In the end, we all want the family and loved ones to have meaningful, quality time, with their person and not have to be the caregiver…all of the time.

Q. Does insurance cover the services of an End of Life Doula?

Unfortunately, no, not at this time. End of Life Doulas are private pay. All “companion” services such as Home Instead, Visiting Angels, Comfort Keepers etc. are all private pay.

Q. Can an End of Life Doula give any medications? What about over the counter medications?

No. An End of Life Doula never gives any medication whether prescription or over the counter. However, as a Doula trained at Doulagivers Institute, we are trained in our curriculum on the common comfort medications used during end of life care.

Q. Can an End of Life Doula help make funeral arrangements for me?

Yes. An End of Life Doula has a ”scope of practice” that includes everything from the time of a terminal diagnosis through the entire end of life journey and bereavement period. Including helping patients and families as the illness progresses, to the vigil, time of death, after death care, understanding and honoring grief, and finally recover of life after loss.

Q. What is Advance Care Planning, and isn't a Living Will the same as a Last Will and Testament?

Advance Care Planning is the process of communicating with your loved ones about your medical wishes in case you are incapacitated and unable to make health care decisions for yourself.

A living will is completely different! Advance Care Planning is about your medical wishes, the a living will is about your possessions.
